The Bridge Youth Ministry will be partnering up with the Ichthus Music Festival to go on a 6 day missions trip and music festival this summer. We want to give you plenty of time to plan for this event so this packet will contain all the information you need to send your student on a life-changing adventure this summer.
WHAT IS THIS TRIP?
The trip consists of a mission trip to Downtown Lexington Kentucky and a Christian Music Festival called Ichthus. Sunday through Wednesday will be spent on the mission field of downtown Lexington: JUNE 13-19, 2010
PART 1: MISSION TRIP: SUNDAY JUNE 13th-WEDNESDAY JUNE 16th
Co-laboring with the Catholic Action Center among other local ministries in downtown Lexington, those that choose to serve at “LexReach” will perform a variety of tasks depending on the needs of the communities at that time; (isn’t it about time we as the Body of Christ start asking people how we can truly minister to their needs as opposed to telling them what we are going to do for them?) Each group will have the opportunity to prepare and serve lunches to the children of Lexington that are on the school lunch program during the school year, (that might not otherwise get a meal), as well as love on God’s people during a “Free Community Picnic,” Groups in the past have built playgrounds, picked up trash in a “homeless community,” organized and given away food, clothing and other personal needs to those in need.
PART 2: MUSIC FESTIVAL: WEDNESDAY JUNE 16th – SATURDAY JUNE 19th
Even though Ichthus has been around for 40 years there are still people out there who may not know who we are and what we’re all about. While we have used music to draw the crowd, we are all about pointing people to encounters with Jesus Christ. Music is the method, Jesus is the message! ??Our mission is to provide students with life changing experiences of truth through life-changing encounters with Jesus Christ.
Campus Housing Located about a mile from the Ichthus Festival grounds, dorm rooms are available on the Asbury College campus. Space is limited as there are only 450 2-person rooms available. ?? All Campus Housing purchases must be made in advance of the festival through Ichthus Ministries.
2-person rooms (per the Asbury College fire-code)
- Large shared bathrooms for all room types except Family Suite ?- Air conditioning in all dorms
- 2 twin beds in each room
- Linen services are NOT provided. Please bring towels, sheets, pillows and blankets for twin bed accomodations?- FREE breakfast on Thursday, Friday and Saturday mornings in the campus cafeteria.?- FREE shuttle service to and from festival; shuttles run continuously all day (approx 8am-midnight)
- Reservations are NOT officially complete until rooming information is collected. Asbury requires you to supply names of all room occupants and medical release forms for any minors who will not have a parent or guardian present.
- After placing an order your receipt will be emailed to you. Your receipt will also serve as a housing form to collect rooming information. A link to the medical release form will be included in the email.
- Further details on check in, curfew, room damage, etc. will be emailed to you in early June.

This price is per person. At this price your LexReach Mission Trip will include:
Mission (Includes lodging and meals Sunday evening through Wednesday morning)
* Festival Wristband (Full Event Ticket)
* Campus Housing Wednesday-Saturday nights in the Asbury College dorms (includes breakfast Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning in the Asbury College Cafeteria.)
* 6 Meal Tickets redeemable with select Festival food vendors (covers lunch and dinner Thursday, Friday and Saturday)
*All Ichthus Missions participants will join in a Missions Celebration Dinner on Wednesday evening at the Festival grounds.
WHAT DO I NEED TO DO TO GO?
Sign-up and pay $50 deposit by Wednesday February 24th!
Fill out Permission Slip, Medical Form, and sign the rules.
Meals and Lodging are included, but you may want some spending money to buy CD’s and T-Shirts.
You will need to bring a sleeping bag and pillow, toiletries, Bible, and clothes for 6 days.
